Globally automotive approved black passivation process for electrochemically deposited zinc-nickel

FINIDIP 728.5 is a globally automotive approved black passivation process for electrochemically deposited zinc-nickel. The product is based on trivalent chromium compounds and can be used for barrel and rack applications. The passivate layer applied in the first step is matt black to slightly iridescent. In a second step a homogeneous black surface can be obtained with a top-coat (e.g. FINIGARD).

FINIDIP is a process line in the trivalent passivation range for Zinc and Zinc alloys of a black, yellow, white or green color. These formulations protects the sacrificial Zn or Zn-Alloy base coat from corrosion and acts as conversion layer between the Zn (Zn-alloy) and the top coat.
