Boron Nitride Composite/Electroless Nickel System
The ENOVA KR process is an electroless nickel-phosphorus plating system. It incorporates a hexagonal boron nitride occluded nanometre range particles in a medium phosphorus electroless nickel matrix.
This unique process is designed for applications requiring lubricity, low coefficient of friction, high wear resistance or mold release.
Unlike the EN/PTFE composites, ENOVA KR deposits can be heat-treated to 850 HV hardness producing an extremely slick, abrasion and wear resistant coating. It can replace hard chromium deposits in some specific applications and can be applied to a wide variety of metals. Besides this process is especially useful in extending the life of light metals such as aluminium.
